Concrete Leveling Services in Box Elder
Concrete is heavy, and if the soil under your concrete slab isn’t properly compacted or has started to erode, the concrete will begin to sink and settle. This will not only make the concrete uneven (and potentially cause drainage issues) but also place it under stress. Sinking concrete is more likely to crack.
Concrete leveling with polyurethane foam is a fast, stable, and effective way to resolve cracked, uneven, and sloping concrete. If you have trip hazards on your Sioux Falls property, it’s time to take care of them with poly concrete lifting.

How Does Concrete Leveling Work?
While different jobs will have different requirements, in general these are the steps that we take when doing a concrete leveling job.
- We assess the slab and determine where the foam needs to be injected in order to properly lift and level the concrete.
- Small holes the size of a coin are drilled into the concrete.
- The polyurethane material is injected into those holes and expands in the area below. This will then raise the slab and lift it back to level. The foam expands rapidly and solidified almost as quickly.
- We constantly monitor the progress in order to avoid over-lifting.
- The holes are filled and any excess foam is cleaned in order to leave the site clean
Concrete leveling with foam is a fast, effective, and wallet-friendly way to resolve issues with your concrete.
There’s no need to tear out the whole patio, driveway, or sidewalk, especially when you would have to fix the underlying problem anyway.
Why ‘Polyjacking’ is Superior to Mudjacking
Mudjacking used to be the main way to lift and level concrete. And it did (and still does) work. There is a reason, however, that polyurethane foam is replacing the mudjacking slurry as the concrete lifting agent of choice.
First, concrete lifting with polyurethane foam, often called polyjacking, is a much less invasive process. In polyjacking, the contractor drills a few, small holes into the concrete that can be easily filled and covered up.
Because of the nature of the mudjacking slurry, however, the holes must be larger, making them more difficult to cover up. The size also places greater stress on slabs that in many cases are already cracking.
Additionally, the equipment used for poly concrete leveling is not as heavy. This allows for easier access and prevents any damage that could be caused by the weight of the mudjacking equipment.
The polyurethane foam typically cures in about 15 minutes. By the time cleanup is done, you will likely be able to start using the concrete slab. Since the mudjacking slurry often involves a cement component, it requires a far greater time to cure.
Finally, the polyurethane foam is impervious to water and any chemicals. It will not break down while underground, period. Therefore, it is a permanent solution so long as other problems don’t arise. That isn’t the case with mudjacking, which often needs to be redone every few years.
